A collective divination performance

worlds.

Whispers, slow gestures and the intimate sounds of materials bring participants into a shared sensory field. Within a ritual of collective divination, chance directs attention towards what arises in the moment, opening a space for presence and enchantment.

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response becomes an artistic medium for encountering matter. A piece of lava stone or a cedar branch may become the focus of shared attention, revealing textures, resonances and unfamiliar qualities of presence. Sound and gesture invite participants into an intimate relationship with what they encounter.

The performance returns as a recurring gathering. A recognisable ritual structure holds changing materials, encounters and perspectives. Like a prism, each gathering may bring one perspective into focus or unfold several at once.

This performance is part of Morphic Realities, a trilogy by Jakob la Cour. Rooted in neo-animism and Nordic hyperfuturism, the trilogy explores shifting perspectives across the geosphere, biosphere, technosphere and astrosphere.

Collective Divination Performance

Whispers, slow gestures and the intimate sounds of materials bring participants into a shared sensory field. Through collective divination, chance directs attention towards what arises in the moment, opening a space for presence and enchantment.

Shared Sensory Field

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response describes a tingling sensation that whispers, delicate sounds and attentive movements can evoke, often accompanied by calm. Familiar to many through ASMR videos experienced alone with headphones. Here it becomes a live, collective practice. Participants share a physical space with one another and with materials, sounds and gestures, forming a shared sensory field in which individual experiences can differ.

Recurring Gathering
